I sat down earlier today to do some brainstorming which I originally scheduled in my start up plan for every week about this time. I always thought it was good to sit back and take in the big picture then refocus into new ideas. I have always been an idea person. I once told my father that I have a thousand ideas and a hundred characters in my head (no, not all at once). My father rarely listened to any of this because he was thinking about how I could make money and at the time I was more interested in writing stories. To him being an author or screenwriter (my dream) was not a stable profession. Well, I did find a way to do what I liked best, eventually! Anyway, my brainstorming today did not lead to much but it reminded me of some business ideas that I rejected in the past because of either lack of finances or expertise. So, here are just three business ideas, projects, or services that I wish I can start up but decided otherwise (if you like an idea, all I ask is a mention):
iShoes: This is my most recent idea. I would manufacture shoes to perfect specifications of the customer’s feet in order to improve foot comfort and health. These would be high end designer and personalized shoes (although I would have some value shoes for those who need healthy shoes). Obviously, this idea came to me because of my wife’s recent visit to the podiatrist. Could there be a need?
Personal Health Manager: I remembered when my wife was first diagnosed with Kidney Disease (see more at www.rensurvivalblog.renality.com aka The Heroic Care Giver). I had no idea what the term really meant – What were we supposed to do next? What doctors should we talk to? What did that mean to our health insurance and our finances. Eventually, we had a social worker that helped but that was several months after we found out. Now imagine a professional manager that could be hired to explain, coordinate, and implement your best health/lifestyle choices. It would not only be much easier but also bring a peace of mind knowing that your life change would not be as traumatic as it would first appear to be.
ImagiNation: A virtual three dimensional internet world with personal aviators that interact for social conversation and entertaining fantasy and science fiction adventures. This is actually an old idea of mine ever since I was blown away by the movie “West World. ” Anyway, I think it has a lot of creative and amusing potential. If thought out some more and with the right expertise maybe ImagiNation can beat out Facebook or Disney World as your next destination!
